Observation: They're friends?

5 p.m. Got to the house, fed Yang. His right eye is still closed, but the wound is healing. Just a matter of time before he gets in another fight, goes blind in the right eye, which will lead to him getting into more fights, losing the sight in the left eye, and becoming totally screwed. How do you tell a street cat to stop fighting?

5:20 p.m. The house cats went outside and I followed them. Behind the house, the white cat with orange patches sat like a lioness, sprawled across a row of concrete bricks. Quite regal. I decided to use my little mini-binoculars to get a closer look without spooking the cat. From about 20 feet away, it just stared back at me for a full minute. I also looked under the house, where there's about 2 feet of vertical space with loose gravel and rocks as a floor. I saw Cody near me, just staring like I was invading his space. He goes into this mode outside the house. Further away, I saw the silouette of a cat, which I assumed was Joey. But as I focused my binoculars, I realized Joey was behind this cat. I could tell from the collar. So who was this mystery cat?

I got up and walked to the back yard. The white cat got up and ran. And out from under the house ran the all-orange cat, a full sprint to the fence. Both strays left. Next time, I'll bring my camera and get photos.
